HALLÅ HALLÅ (Blom, 2014): restricted costume colors

As a feelgood comedy Maria Blom's HALLÅ HALLÅ is nothing to write home about. But like in many Scandinavian films the color styling is both very rich and very restrictive at the same time. In place of the worn out orange/teal standard the art department translates the overall warm/cold concept into a red/blue (turquoise) contrast with occasional warm yellow spots which makes primary colors look really beautiful.

Als Feelgood-Komödie ist Maria Blom's HALLÅ HALLÅ kaum der Rede wert. Aber wie so oft in skandinavischen Filmen ist die Farbgestaltung ebenso reichhaltig wie restriktiv. Anstelle des abgegriffenen Blau-Gelb-Schemas zeigen die Filmemacher den warm/kalt-Kontrast anhand von Rot und Blau (Türkis) mit gelegentlichen gelben Farbtupfern und bringen so die Primärfarben zum Leuchten.
