If there is one classic Swiss film that is as relevant today as when it first came out, it is Markus Imhoof's refugee drama DAS BOOT IST VOLL ("the boat is full") which in my opinion contains some of the most accurate portrayals of a mentality I still encounter today. The post-synching might be a bit distracting but the decision to refuse the comfort of a dramatic musical score makes the film all the more captivating and immediate.
Wenn es einen Schweizer Klassiker gibt, der heute so relevant ist wie zur Zeit seiner Entstehung, dann ist das Markus Imhoofs Flüchtlingsdrama DAS BOOT IST VOLL. Selten habe ich ein präziseres Portrait einer auch heute noch weitverbreiteten Mentalität des Zögerns und nicht Zunahekommenlassens gesehen. Die nachsynchronisierten Dialoge mögen zwar stellenweise sehr ablenken, der Verzicht auf Hintergrundmusik macht Imhoofs Film jedoch eindeutig spannender und unmittelbarer.
