[¨SAFE] (Haynes, 1995): Pastel red and green contrast

Todd Haynes's AIDS allegory [SAFE] about a chemical sensitive housewife is set in 1987 and alludes to melodrama mise-en-scène by both Sirk and Fassbinder. The art direction is quite heavy on all encompassing "wellness" pastel colors, very soft red and green (resulting in pink and turquoise) in particular.
